Cecile A. Martin 86, formerly of Wood Ave., died Wednesday at Landmark Medical Center. She was the wife of the late Arthur J. Martin. Mrs. Martin was born in Woonsocket a daughter of the late Celestin and Albertine (Couture) Charette. Mrs. Martin was a winder for the former Masurel Co. and Bancroft Co. retiring in 1979.She was a member of the St. Joseph Sr. Citizens, St. Theresa's Sr. Citizens, and a life member for the D.A.V. Auxilary.
Mrs. Martin is survived by six sons Arthur, Robert, Albert, Ronald, and Joseph Martin all of Woonsocket, and Allen Martin of N. Smithfield, two daughters Suzanne Powell of Hemet CA., and Jeanne Artz of Lincoln, NE, a sister, Albertine Giard of Woonsocket, twenty five grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. She was also the grandmother of the late Jeremiah Martin and sister of the late Alice, George, Celestin, Emile, and Pete Charette.
Her funeral will be held Monday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in All Saints Church, Rathbun St. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Sunday 3-5 PM.
