Francisco C. “Frank” Maduro, 80, of Westport passed away Thursday, October 22, 2009. He was the husband of Gertrude M. (Feio) Maduro.
Born in New Bedford, a son of the late John S. and Maria da Leuz (Franco) Maduro and step-son of the late Ermalinda (Franco) Maduro, he had lived in Westport since 1960. He was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church, Westport. A veteran of the Korean War, he served his country in the United States Army. Prior to retirement in September 1990, Mr. Maduro was a Federal Police Officer for the United States Civil Service. He was a member of the American Legion James Morris Post 145 of Westport.
Including his wife, survivors include: a son: Jeffrey F. Maduro of Westport; 2 daughters: Mary-Anne Smith and Evelyn M. Audet both of E. Providence, RI; 3 grandchildren: Scott L. Fernandes of CO, Bennett K. Smith of MA and Tori L. Maduro of MA; a great grandchild: Jebediah K. Smith; and several nieces and nephews.
He was brother of the late John S. Maduro, Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, October 26, 2009 at St. John the Baptist Church, Westport at 11:00 A.M.
Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M. prior to the Mass at the Potter Funeral Home.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
