Jesup- Nellie Grace Herrin, age 71, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Wayne County and a Baptist by faith.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Alice Scott; father: Randall Jones; brother: Roy L. Corry; daughter: Judy Altman; and grandson: Tony E. Landon, Jr.
Surviving are four daughters: Lucille Wilkerson, Patty Altman, Christine Mansfield and Charlene and husband Chris Bush all of Jesup; three sons: Douglas Herrin of Scottsfield, KY, Richard Herrin and Gary Herrin both of Jesup; two brothers: Johnny and wife Doris Corry and Frances and wife Ruby Corry all of Jesup; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 3 p.m. from the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel with Reverend Hulett Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Odessa Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Active Pallbearers will be Bruce Williams, Tommy Corry, John Mansfield, Chris Bush, Michael Lathrop and Billy Messer.
Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons.
