FALL RIVER … Ida S. (Silvia) Gomez, 80, of Fall River died at home Tuesday, October 20, 2009 after a long illness.
She was the wife of Leonard V. Gomez.
She was born in Fall River a daughter of the late John and Hortense Silvia and had been a life long resident of the city.
She was a machine operator at various mills in the city.
Ida was a member of the Cranberry Fly Wheelers where she served on the board of directors as well as many small engine clubs and gas engine clubs. She was a member of ILGWA # 178. She enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, 2 sons: Michael Gutter and his partner Michael Koury of Swansea and Matthew Gutter and his wife Debbie of Fall River, a step-son Bryan Gomez and his companion Cindy Comeau of Little Compton, 2 step-daughters: Kathy Waite and her husband Douglas of Tiverton and Donna Silva of Little Compton, 2 sisters: Linda Pollock of Pawtucket and Violet Alexander of Fall River, 2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 step-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Manuel “Bill” Silvia and Hortense Silveira.
Memorial service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday at 7:45 PM at the BOYKO MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 709 Broadway, Fall River, MA. Memorial visitation Saturday 4 – 7:45 PM.
