TEWKSBURY - Shirley V. (Cain) Clark, age 87, died peacefully at the Aberjonia Nursing Care Center in Winchester after a long period of declining health. She was the wife of the late Warren D. Clark, who died in 1971.
She was born Winchester, MA, on May 15, 1922, a daughter of the late Irwin and Helen Olive (Cleland) Cain. She was raised in the town of Lake George, Nova Scotia, and following graduation from high school, moved back to Melrose in her late teen age years. She met her future husband at Boyd's in Malden. Following the death of her husband, she moved to Tewksbury in 1975.
In her earlier years, she worked at the former W.T. Grant department store in Wilmington, and later in the housekeeping departments of Choate Hospital in Woburn, and then the Wilmington Regional Health Care Center.
She was an active member of the Tewksbury United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and James Cooney of Tewksbury; a granddaughter, Jillian Cooney of Tewksbury;and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Olive Gray and Elizabeth Pothier.
Her Funeral Service was held Friday, Oct. 23, in the funeral home, followed by burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.
