WORCESTER: Carlos M. Mateus, 58, formerly of Gloucester, died Saturday, October 17, 2009 in the St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester following an extended illness.
Born in the Azores, Portugal on October 1, 1951, he was the son of the late Francisco and Laura (Goulart) Mateus. He came to the United States at the age of eight.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Herb and Donna (Riley) Mateus of Virginia Beach, VA, two nieces, Nicole, wife of James Collins of Jacksonville, NC and Melissa, wife of Wayne White of Virginia Beach, VA, a grandniece, Melayna White, a grandnephew, Wayne White, Jr. and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
His funeral service will be held in the Calvary Cemetery on Friday morning at 9:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
