Mr. Antonio DiMeo, age 66 of Medford, formerly of Somerville and Boston’s North End, died Saturday in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center in Medford. He is the husband of Diana (Martinelli) DiMeo with whom he shared more than 40 years of Marriage. Mr. DiMeo was born and raised in Italy, son of the late Giuseppe and Maria (Giannangelo) DiMeo. He came to the United States at the age of 18 and settled with his parents in Boston’s North End. He later moved to Somerville in 1965, then to Medford
where he has been a resident since 1976. Mr. DiMeo was an entrepreneur with many skills. In the old country he worked raising cattle. Here, he learned the construction industry and also owned a restaurant at one time and also worked in the clothing industry. He was an avid sports fan and a big fan of the Boston Bruins. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather and brother. In addition to his wife, he leaves two sons, Joseph DiMeo and his wife Melanie and Christian DiMeo all of Medford. Beloved grandfather of Sofia and Antonio DiMeo of Medford. Dear brother of Anna Teresa DiMeo of Italy and Edda DeBenedictis and her husband Giuseppe of Medford.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, Wednesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
