Barbara F. Monahan, 70, of Derry, NH, died Friday, October 16, 2009 in the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. Mrs. Monahan was born in Boston, MA on March 11, 1939, a daughter of the late Stephen and Florence (Boyle) Noyes. She was a resident of Derry for the past 17 years, formerly living in Roslindale, MA. Mrs. Monahan was employed as a sales clerk for Walmart in Derry for several years. She enjoyed shopping, eating out and going to Las Vegas.
She is survived by her husband, Stephen J. Monahan of Derry; one daughter, Eileen Coyle and her husband Michael of Hull, MA; one son, Stephen Monahan and his wife Debbie of Hull, MA; one granddaughter, Kayla Monahan of Weymouth, MA; one brother, Stephen Noyes and his wife Lorraine of Brockton, MA; one sister, Helen Power of Derry; as well as several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Calling hours were held on Monday October 19th from 4 to 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson Disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018.
