James A. Church 69, of Beaverton, Oregon, died Friday October 16, 2009 at Milford Regional Medical Center, shortly after his arrival there. He and his wife Myrna Y. (Nichols) Church were visiting with family in Franklin.
Born in Bedfordshire, England August 24, 1940 a son of the late Edward and Evelyn Florence (Scarborough) Church, he was raised and educated in England. After leaving his homeland, he moved to Canada where he lived for several years, and then to Oregon in 1988.
He was a retired engineer for the Sulzer Company in Portland, Oregon. He was a communicant of St. Pius X Church in Portland.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons Richard J. Church and his wife Julie of Franklin, John D. Church of Portland, Oregon a daughter Natalie M. Bowyer in Canada, a sister Eileen F. Duggan in Tasmania, five grandchildren Delanie Church, Joy, Stephanie, Joshua and Naomi Bowyer.
His funeral and interment will take place in Oregon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to any Knights of Columbus Council, Memorial Fund.
