Suzanne A. Rizzotti-Bartel, 58, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at her home in Derry. Suzanne was born on January 22, 1951 in Cleveland, OH to the late Dan. H. and Jean (Wood) Arnold, Jr. She worked as an Insurance Underwriter since 1976, most recently at First American Insurance Underwriters. Suzanne enjoyed reading, walks on the beach and in the mountains, swimming, jewelry making, a wide variety of music, playing bridge, and her 1993 Honda which she put over 317,000 miles on. She touched many lives and all who knew her will never forget her for her endearing kindness and humor. Suzanne's greatest love of all was her family.
She leaves her loving husband John V. Bartel, Jr. of Derry; her daughter, Sheree R. Dawe of North Conway, NH; her sister, Jean Marie Hill of Moultonborough, NH; her step daughter, Wendy Bartel of Richmond, CA; stepsons, Pastor Andrew Bartel of Mitchell, SD, Matthew Bartel of North Attleboro, MA, and William Bartel of Billerica, MA; as well as nine grandchildren. Her brother, Rev. James B. Arnold, predeceased Suzanne.
Following cremation, calling hours were held on Friday, October 23rd from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A memorial service was held on Saturday, October 24th at 10:00am in the First Parish Church, 47 E. Derry Rd., Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice- Attn: EXT REL, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843.
