Obituary

Lewis E. Carroll, 81, of Summerville, husband of Dorothy Ely Carroll died Thursday, October 15, 2009 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2:00 at Old Fort Baptist Church, 10505 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Entombment will follow at Dorchester Memory Gardens, 11000 Dorchester Road, Summerville.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 Saturday evening.

Lewis was born April 5, 1928 in Bamberg, son of the late Paul and Sallie Carroll. He was a graduate of schools in Bamberg. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force retiring as an E6 after twenty-two years. He later retired from the civil service department of the Charleston Air Force Base. He was a christian who loved the Lord and read his bible daily. He was deacon and Sunday school teacher at Old Fort Baptist Church. He loved his God, his church, his family and he was a child of the King.
Surviving in addition to his wife are:
2 daughters: Lou-Ann Irick and Renee Manning both of Summerville.
1 son: Timothy Carroll of Summerville.
Grandchildren: Sarah Verch, T.J. Irick, McKenna Irick, Jordan Manning and Ely Carroll all of Summerville.
1 brother: Paul Carroll of Ridgeville
3 sisters: Mildred Pauls of Denmark, SC, Doris Deer and Polly Brant both of Ulmers, SC.
