James L. “Jimmy” Grimsley, Jr., 47, of Irwin County, died Thursday, October 15, 2009 from complications of heart disease, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Saturday, October 17, at Lax Community Church with the Rev. Edsel Young officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 Friday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mr. Grimsley was born March 26, 1962 in Early County, Georgia, to the late James L. and Yvonne Merritt Grimsley. He lived in the community most of his life and was a former resident of Albany. Mr. Grimsley was a florist for over thirty years and a member of the Church Of God faith.
He is survived by his brothers & sisters-in-law, Ronald & JoAnn Harper of Albany and Lawton & Sylvia Harper of Ocilla; sisters & brothers-in-law, Debbie & Steve Tomberlin of Wilcox County and Dannette & David Hutto of Irwin County and a daughter as well as several nieces and nephews.
