Tyrone Woodward Griffin, 68, of Tifton died Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Eddie Hutcheson and Rev. Ed Godwin will officiate with burial to follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. Honorary pallbearers will be bowlers with the Tifton Bowling Association. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 16, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Griffin was born on May 11, 1941 in Berrien County and was the son of Willard Woodward Griffin and Judy Louise Pridgen Griffin, both deceased. He was retired in sales and a member of Tifton’s First Assembly of God.
Mr. Griffin is survived by his wife, Brenda Evans Griffin of Tifton; one son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Jodi Evans of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Shanna and Jamie Wilson of Moultrie; four brothers and three sisters-in-law, Dale and Jennifer Griffin of Tifton, Charles “Bago” and Ann Marie Griffin of Alapaha, James and Jeanne Griffin of Nashville and Wendell Griffin of Tifton; three grandchildren, Logan Franklin, Jasmine Franklin, Christin Evans; and several nieces and nephews.
