Obituary

Methuen, MA – Virginia G. “Virgie” (Guyguyon) Lahan, 50, died Wednesday October 14, 2009 at the Exeter Hospital.
Born, February 28, 1959 in Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya, Philipines, Virgie was a graduate of Saint Catherine High School in Bambang, and received her bachelors degree in criminology at the University of Baguio. For many years Mrs. Lahan was employed as a teacher of elementary art and music in Kenya,Taiwan, and Jordan .
Virgie was an award winning author who had published more than 25 stories in the Philipines. She recently won a Gold Star Authors award from Liwayway Magazine. Virgie was also an artist and a very talented musician.
She worked for many years overseas and is survived by her husband of 21 years Brian Lahan. Survivors include her daughter Hilary Lahan, two sisters, Zeny and her husband Orly Vidal, Juliet and her husband Hector Gabriel, her brother Romeo and his wife Cindy Guyguyon, and her father Donato Guyguyon She was the daughter of her late mother Lourdes (Gaffuy) Guyguyon.
Survivors also include her mother-in law Patricia Lahan, her brother and sister-inlaws John and his wife Nadine Lahan, Michael and his wife Carol Lahan, Tricia and husband Vinny Knightly, Mary-Gail Marcello, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends who wish may pay their respects on Friday evening from 5-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen. A Funeral Mass will take place on Saturday morning at 9 o’clock in Saint Monicas Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lazarus House, Inc. 260 Park Street Lawrence, MA 01841 and the Bread and Roses 58 Newbury Street 01840.
