Laurent P. Gagné, 85, of Manchester, died October 13, 2009 at the Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester, NH the son of Louis D. and Aurelie (Bernier) Gagné and was a lifelong resident. During his teenage years, he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.
Early in his career he worked with his father at the Gagné Martel Market on the west side of Manchester. He enlisted in the US Navy and served as a hospital corpsman during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a machinist by trade and was employed by Felton Brush Co. before his retirement in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Gertrude (Nadeau) Gagné of Manchester; two sons, Richard Gagné of Cambridge, VT and Paul Gagné of Goffstown, NH; three daughters, Janet DiIulio of Somerville, MA, Lynne Cronin of Manchester, NH and Joyce Loewenstein of West Kingston, RI; 11 grandchildren; three sisters, Bernadette Schultheis of Athens, TN, Lorette Doyon of Spring Hill, FL and Claire DesMeules of Hollywood, FL; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, October 19, 2009, at Parish of the Transfiguration, 305 Kelley St., Manchester, NH. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH.
