Elaine Allen Rodrick, 83, originally of Swampscott, MA passed away peacefully with her family at her side on October 13, 2009 at the Derry Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Derry, NH after a brief illness. Elaine was the daughter of Bert & Velma Allen of East Derry, NH and sister of Courtney Allen of Iowa, Glenn Allen of Florida and Powell Allen of East Derry, NH and Ann Ingalls of Manchester. She was predeceased by her husband Woodbury L. Rodrick.
Elaine grew up in Swampscott, MA and later moved to East Derry, NH and graduated from Pinkerton Academy. She then married Woodbury Rodrick of Swampscott, MA where they resided for 40 years. Upon their retirement they moved to their summer home on Sunset Lake in Hampstead, NH. After Woody’s death Elaine moved to Emerson’s Trailer Park where she resided for 12 years. Elaine was a loving mother who dedicated her life to her family, friends and Church. She was an avid member of the Hampstead Congregational Church where she was a Deacon, Greeter and always there to help and touch people’s hearts. Her faith was her hobby and it was evident as a sister, wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She was loved by all and her loss will be felt forever. She has now gone home, safe and sound in the arms of the Lord.
Elaine leaves behind her devoted children, including her son, Steven Rodrick and his partner Tarcy Connors of Escondido, California, her two daughters, Kathi Dunn and her husband Bill of Danville, NH and Cindy Travers and her husband Gary of Sandown, NH. Her beloved grandsons, Michael and Jonathan Rodrick of Plaistow, NH and Patrick Murphy of Hampstead, NH. Her daughter in-law Elizabeth Rodrick of Plaistow and nephew Lance Rodrick of Laconia, NH as well as many more nieces, nephews and friends.
There was a “Celebration of Elaine’s Life” held at the Hampstead Congregational Church in Hampstead, NH on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2 pm. A collation followed at Hadley Hall in the Church. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Elaine’s memory to the Hampstead Congregational Church, 61 Main Street, PO Box 158, Hampstead, NH 03841. It was Elaine's wish that the church steeple could be refurbished.
