Mr. Theodore P. “Ted” Berini, age 72 of Malden, formerly of Medford died on Monday in Cambridge Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of the late Marie “Honey” (Amato) Berini. Mr. Berini was born in Boston, and attended local schools. He was a Cook, employed in earlier years by the Atlantic Grille, in Boston's South End. In addition to being a wonderful cook, he also was an avid sports fan and followed the Boston Red Sox. He loved working in the garden and was known for how tidy he kept his property. He is survived by a daughter, Cheryl LaGreca and her husband Steven of Stoneham, a Grand Daughter, Madeline LaGreca of Stoneham and a sister, Elizabeth Berini of Boston, brother in law of Camille Amato of Everett, Peter and Ann Amato both of Woburn. Son in law of the late Vincent and Jennie Amato. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers, Edward and Anthony Berini. He was also the brother in law of the late Josie Amato.
His funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street MEDFORD on Friday at 11:30 am. A funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 441 Fellsway West, Medford, at 12:00 noon. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family Friday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 am. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
