Audrey J. (Newcomb) Dubois, 79 of South Dennis and formerly of Franklin died October 11 in her home. She was the wife of Walter J. Dubois for the past 60 years.
Born in Boston, March 22,1930 the daughter of the late Arthur and Ruth (Hartwell) Newcomb, Mrs. Dubois was raised n Roxbury and had lived in Franklin for 38 years before moving to Plymouth, where she lived for 4 years prior to moving to South Dennis 9 years ago.
Mrs. Dubois was an LPN; she began her career at Longwood Hospital in Boston and then went on to work for Dr. C. Lincoln Dana in Franklin where she worked for many years. After Dr. Dana retired, she continued to work at Dean College in the school infirmary until her retirement in 1995.
Mrs. Dubois was active member of the Alliance of the First Parish Church of Plymouth.
Mrs. Dubois enjoyed doing ceramics, gardening and traveling, especially to Hawaii.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children Walter Dubois Jr. of Haverhill, Donna Whalen of Reading and Kevin Dubois of Centerville.
She was the sister of the late Jean Dalzell.
She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, October 16 from the Ginley Funeral Home of Franklin, 131 Main St. in Franklin at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery in Milford.
Calling hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.
