Obituary

Carl D. Desilets, 47, of St. Barnabe St., Woonsocket, died Sunday at Landmark Medical Center.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Henri Desilets, and Emile and Judy (Jordan) Lapierre of Hertford, North Carolina. He was a lifelong resident of the city.
Carl attended Woonsocket Vocational Tech School, and was a graduate of Woonsocket High School Class of 1980. He also attended CCRI.
Mr. Desilets served as a Woonsocket Police Officer for 13 years.
Carl was a student of karate and attained his major belts. He enjoyed golf and was an avid hockey player in his youth and a lifelong fan of the sport.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Leslie Barrette of Port St. Lucie, FL., his fiancée Robin Lee Bento of Woonsocket, two step-sisters Tracy and Tammy Desilets, a step-granddaughter Keyanna Lee Saddler, an aunt Linda Fontaine of Woonsocket, 2 aunts, 2 uncles, a niece Stacie Barrette of Wakefield, RI., and nephew Kyle Barrette of Port St. Lucie, FL., and many cousins.
Services and burial will be private. Visiting hours are omitted. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA. 01701. Arrangements are by the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket.
