Don Preston Beasley, 74, of Wray, formerly of Tifton, died Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 13, 2009, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Joseph Crumley will officiate with burial to follow in Salem Memorial Gardens. Andy Gill, Ray Beasley, Josh Clements, Jason Clements, Ken Beasley, Mike Clements and Keith Beasley will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 12, 2009, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Beasley was born on February 12, 1935 in Aniston, Alabama and was the son of Dewey Roscoe Beasley and Emma Claire Nolin Beasley, both deceased. He was retired and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was one of the original founders of Tiftarea Academy and served in the National Guard.
Mr. Beasley is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Micki and Rick Galliano of Tifton; one brother, Dewey Eldridge Beasley of Ty Ty; two grandchildren, Katie Galliano Ward of Tifton and Samantha Galliano of Tifton; and friends, Liz Barrentine of Wray; and Shelby Beasley of Tifton.
