Mrs. Joan Marie (Stamegna) Green, beloved wife of the late Francis "Buddy" W. Green, died at her home on Sunday, October 11, 2009. She was 79 years old.
Mrs. Green was a fifty five year resident of Medford, formerly of Wakefield. Born in Wakefield, Massachusetts, on June 4, 1930, she was the beloved daughter of the late Anthony N. and Catherine E. (Hoban) Stamegna. She was an avid bingo player and loved to visit Foxwoods and play the slot machines. Above all, Mrs. Green was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She will be very sorely missed by her two daughters and one son-in-law; Deborah A. King of Malden and Carol L. and her husband Robert M. Cullen of Stoughton, seven grandchildren; Regina Nelson, Melissa and Michael King and Matthew, Christopher, Eric and Alana Cullen, one great-grandson; Benjamin Paul Nelson and many nieces and nephews. She was also the loving mother-in-law of the late Paul R. King and sister of the late Mary Giles, Catherine MacKay and John Stamegna.
Her funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, October 16, 2009, at 9 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 514 High Street, Medford at 10 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held Thursday, October 15, 2009, from 4 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
