Ronald H. Bacon, 76 of Hemond Ave. died Friday at Landmark Medical Center. He was the husband of Therese (Lemieux) Bacon. Mr. Bacon was born in Woonsocket, a son of the late Henry and Delia (Pariseau) Bacon. He worked as a correctional officer for the State of Rhode Island for thirty five years before retiring in 1991. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. Ron was a member of Field of Dreams, the Woonsocket Lodge of Elks, and American Legion Post # 62. He was an avid golfer, and an active participant of softball, bocce, bowling, and pitch, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Besides his wife he leaves a son, Marc R. Bacon and his wife Nancy, of Cumberland, and two granddaughters Samantha and Cassondra. He is survived by a brother Robert Bacon, of Wagram, NC and a sister Claire Bouchard of Greenwood, SC. He was also the brother of the late Normand "Pete" Bacon.
His funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 AM from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main St. Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday 4-8 PM.
