Gladys M. “Mickey” (Bryan) Leakeas, 67 years old, a resident of Lowell for over sixty years, died Saturday afternoon at Saints Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
Born in O’Leary Prince Edward Island, Canada on April 25, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Rathbun and Julia (Bernard) Bryan and was educated in the Lowell schools.
Mrs. Leakeas worked as a Barmaid at various clubs in the Lowell area. Most recently she worked at the former Press Club and the Highland Tap. She always had a smile on her face, spent as much time as possible with her family and enjoyed her lobster dinners.
She is survived by a son and daughter in law, Paul M. and Eileen Leakeas; two daughters and sons in law, Cheryl A. and Leonard Yearling and Joanne and Robert Emmons all of Lowell; six grandchildren, Angela McKenzie, Nichole, Kellyann and Robert Emmons, Paul and Courtney Leakeas; three great grandchildren, Xavier, Caleb and Julia McKenzie; a sister Judy D. Schaffer and her husband Stephen of Dracut; two brothers, R. Willard Bryan Jr. and his wife Paullette of Winchendon and Richard Bryan and his wife Kelly of Lowell; a brother in law, Charles Beauchesne of Lowell and several Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and many friends.
She was the sister of the late Daniel C. Bryan, Margaret “Mugsy” Beauchesne and Linda Bryan.
LEAKEAS- Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday, Oct. 13 from 5 until 8 pm at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 NESMITH ST, (Rte.38). Her Funeral Service will be held Wednesday Oct. 14 at 10 am at the Funeral Home. Burial in Lowell Cemetery.
