Marilyn (Nesson) Mann passed away on October 10, 2009. She was 82 years old. Born in Boston, MA she was a resident of Gloucester for many years. She was educated in the Brookline schools and graduated from Tufts Medical School. Marilyn worked as an Occupational Therapist before retirement.
Marilyn worked for the Red Cross for over 25 years. She created a program called My Small World that she was involved in until recently. It was designed for teaching tolerance and was used in the Gloucester Schools. Marilyn also enjoyed knitting and needlework.
Marilyn was the beloved wife of Dr. Ralph Mann. She was the devoted mother of Janet Farrell and her husband Hank, Edward Mann and his wife Christine, and William Masselli and his wife Barbara. Marilyn was the dear sister of the late H. Richard Nesson and Lois Cohen. She was also the loving grandmother of Ben Parsons, Melissa Mann, and Matthew Mann.
A Chapel service will be held at Torf Funeral Chapel, 151 Washington Ave., Cary Sq., Chelsea on Monday October 12 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be in Sharon Memorial Park. Donations in her memory may be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923 or a charity of your choice.
