Barbara E. (Chesmore) Boczanowski, 80, of Medway, died peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at her home surrounded by her children. She was the wife of Francis V. Boczanowski who died in 1997.
Born in Framingham on February 22, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Earl and Sarah (Carr) Chesmore.
Mrs. Boczanowski was a resident of Medway since 1956. She grew up in Framingham and graduated from Framingham North High School.
Before her retirement, Mrs. Boczanowski worked at New England Telephone Co. for over 25 years. She later volunteered in the Medway Public Schools for several years.
Mrs. Boczanowski was a member of the Pioneers Club and an active member of the Medway Senior Center and the Medway Friends of Elders.
A communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Medway, she was a 50 year member of the Catholic Daughters Court St. Joseph.
Mrs. Boczanowski loved crafts, reading and playing dominos. She was also proud to be a faithful member of Red Sox Nation.
She is survived by; six children, Linda Lapham of Chatham, Carol Fichera of Gainesville, TX, Joseph Boczanowski of Mendon, Joanne Boczanowski of Medway, Deborah Boczanowski of Medway and Barbara Tiernan of Franklin.
She is also survived by twelve grandchildren and her brother, Richard Chesmore of Yarmouthport.
She was a sister of the late Janice Decolibus.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Thursday, October 15 from the Ginley-Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Medway.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m.
