Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Obituary Information
Mr. Tartaglia entered into rest Friday at the home of his daughter Susan, after a brief illness. He was born in Brockton, a son of the late Celestino and Vincenza (Gugliemo) Tartaglia. He attended Brockton schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1937. He was a former co-proprietor of George’s Café. For many years he was an amateur boxer who trained with Rocky Marciano. He was an avid gardener and in the past had enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his daughter Susan M. Tartaglia of Stoughton, two grandchildren Kelly A. and Kristy L. Sullivan, one brother Charles Tartaglia of Bridgewater, one sister Ann Ennis of Bristol, Rhode Island and many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Inez (Zacchilli) Tartaglia, father of the late Donna M. Tartaglia, brother of the late George, Frank, Gene and Matthew Tartaglia, Albina D’Alessio, Mary Bettencourt, Lucy Piver and Philomena “Fannie” Florio.
