Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Cyril “Kenneth” Hardy, 77, formerly of Medford and Hudson, died early Thursday morning, October 8, 2009 in the Essex Park Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Beverly. He was the husband of the late Jean (Kellegrew) Hardy, who died in 1995.
Born in Port Joli, Nova Scotia, Canada on October 30, 1931, he was the son of the late David A. and Edith (Smith) Hardy. He moved to the United States in 1956. He had been a resident of Gloucester since 2003.
Ken was employed as a salesman for twenty years by Theodore Von Kamaka and then Charles P. Lauman Corporation for many years.
Ken was a great singer, with a wonderful voice. He was also a poet and songwriter. He was a nature lover and avid Red Sox fan. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his daughter and her spouse, Deborah D. Hardy and Kerry Mullen of Gloucester, a son, David A. Hardy of Las Vegas, NV, two stepsons, Steven Lane of Medford, Bradley Broderick of Falmouth, a grandson, Nicholas Hardy of NV, two granddaughters, Jacqueline and Meredith Lane both of Medford.
His funeral service will be held on Monday in the Independent Christian Church, Unitarian Universalist at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. Interment will be held privately in the Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
