COOPER, Rev. William D.
Rev. William “Billy” Delano Cooper, 60, of North Charleston, died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Roper Hospital.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 2 o’clock at Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, 2105 Cosgrove Avenue, North Charleston. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, Hwy. 61, Charleston.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o’clock this evening and from 1 o’clock until the hour of service on Sunday at Cherokee Place United Methodist Church.
Rev. Cooper was born June 7, 1949 in Charleston, son of Arrie Hughes Holt of North Charleston and the late Don N. Holt. He was a graduate of Garrett High School. He attended Charleston Southern University and Emory College and received his Masters of Divinity Degree at Erskine Seminary College. He was a member of the Rotary and a founding member of Palmetto Hospice and was a Minister with the South Carolina Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Surviving are: mother: Arrie H. Holt of North Charleston, wife Brenda Cooper of 26 years, 1 son: Benji Cooper of North Charleston, 2 brothers: Don N. Holt III of Columbus, Georgia and Michael I. Holt of Charleston. 2 sisters: Zora Keile of Summerville and Ranie Cahill of Scottsdale, Arizona. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his father: Don N. Holt and his grandparents: Daisy and Isaac B. Hughes.
