Obituary

MANCHESTER-Alfred J. Dionne, 88, died peacefully on October 7, 2009 at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on September 18, 1921 the son of Joseph and Jeanne (Buecher) Dionne and was a lifelong resident..
He was predeceased by his wife Louise (Vincent) Dionne in 1985.
As a finish carpenter he was employed at the former West Side Lumber Co., later retired from Davison Construction Co., and was a Union Leader news carrier for many years.
He was a lifelong member of St. Theresa Church.
During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps in China, Burma and India as a gunner/ armorer aboard B25 bombers and was wounded in action.
He enjoyed fishing, carpentry, reading, western movies and spending time with his family at the summer camp he built on Daniel’s Lake in Weare.
He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry ( Evelyn) Friedrich of Pembroke, Mrs. Paul (Jeannine) Huot of Winter Haven, FL., Mrs. Elzey (Elaine) Burkham of Campton; two sons, Raymond J. Dionne of Manchester and Kevin F. Dionne of Deerfield; two sisters Theresa Pinard of Litchfield and Lorraine Pinard of Manchester; nine grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
SERVICES:Calling hours will be Sunday from 4 to 8 at the J.N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 AM in Blessed Sacrament Church. Burial will be follow in St. Augustin Cemetery.
