Ralph V. D'Elia, age 83, died Tuesday afternoon, October 6, 2009 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center, in Burlington. Born in Boston, Ralph was the son of the late Margaret (White) & Michael A. D'Elia. He has been a Woburn resident for the last 54 years, formerly of Somerville.
Ralph worked for the H. C. Stack Co. of Newton as a foreman, working in the specialty metal division. He retired in 1988. He proudly served with the US Navy during World War II. Ralph loved to go camping with his family, enjoying the outdoors, tending to his garden and traveled with his family. He was also a member of the Baldwin Apple Squares, which was a square dancing group.
Ralph was the beloved husband of Mary (Corcoran) D'Elia. Devoted father of Michael D'Elia of Michigan, Claire Lambert of Chelmsford, Maryann, Paul, John and Ralph D'Elia all of Woburn. Also survived by eight loving grandchildren and one loving great granddaughter. Brother of Anna Young of CA, Grace Morril of AZ, Mary Welch, Helen Flynn both of Braintree, Michael D'Elia of Everett and the late Joseph D'Elia.
Funeral from the McLaughlin-Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN Saturday at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 851 Main St., Woburn at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn.
