Sophie Geanisis (Perakis), 89, of Plymouth formerly of Arlington, passed away on October 7th at the Golden Living Center. Beloved wife of the late George Geanisis, she is survived by her loving children Adrienne Caselle of Andover, Irene Spellman of Plymouth, Anthony Geanisis of Littleton, Gregory Geanisis of Ansonia, CT and Ann Marie Geanisis of Weymouth. She also leaves her 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Sister of the late George Courtovich, Anthony Perakis and James Perakis. Sophie was born in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School. She was employed by Chelsea Clock. The family moved to Arlington in 1957. She and her husband were one of the founding families of St. Athanasius Greek Orthodox Church in Arlington, and was very active in the parish. She and her husband retired to Plymouth in 1977. Sophie enjoyed baking, cooking, knitting, dinner parties with her friends, and especially spending time with her family. A funeral service will be held at the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd, Centerville on Saturday October 10th at 10 AM followed by burial at Manomet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the Richard Davis Funeral Home, 619 State Rd (Rt 3A), Plymouth (Manomet) on Friday, October 9th from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1130 Falmouth Rd, Centerville, MA 02632 or to the Alzheimer’s Association, 311 Arsenal St, Watertown, MA 02472.
