Carmen P. (Pimental) Silva, 96, of New Bedford died Wednesday October 7, 2009 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Silva.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Mary C. (Franco) Pimental, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Mrs. Silva was formerly employed as a stitcher for Leading Sportswear.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Joseph S. Silva, Jr. and his wife Barbara of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Mary Ferreira, Laura Roderiques, Manuel, Joseph, Abel, Arthur, Antone, and Armand Pimental.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
