Mr. Raymond Charles Brennan, a longtime resident of Medford and former resident of Everett and Revere, died at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital on Monday, October 5, 2009. He was 69 years old.
Born in Somerville, Massachusetts, on November 14, 1939, he was the beloved son of the late John F. and Genevieve G. (Harney) Brennan. Raymond was a graduate of Medford High School and worked for many years at Brennan’s Esso Station, formerly in Medford. He was also employed for more than twenty years by Green Cab in Somerville as a driver. Mr. Brennan loved to sing Kareoke and also loved his tropical fish. Above all, he Ray was a devoted family man and was a very giving person. He made many peoples lives better, because he was always willing to go out of his way for others.
He will be sorely missed by one daughter; Virginia L. Martin and one son; Jeffrey S. Brennan and his life partner, Melanie C. McDonald, all of Port St. Lucie, Florida, three sisters; Carole Curtis and Dianne M. Driscoll, both of Medford and Maureen and her husband, Sam Marino of Beverly, three grandchildren; Jolie, Joy and Jeffrey, Jr. and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Friday, October 9, 2009, at 10 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends respectfully attended. Visiting hours were held Thursday, October 8, 2009, from 5 to 8 PM. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
