Obituary

William W. Cunha, 80, passed away at home in Wilmington on October 6th, 2009. He was born in Cambridge on April 5th, 1929 to his parents Manuel and Angeline (Condinho) Cunha. William was raised and educated in Somerville. He was a resident of Malden from 1953 to 1992. For over 50 years he worked as a plumber for Union Local 12. He is a member of the Lions Club in Malden and the Everett Veterans Fireman’s Association in Everett. William is survived by his wife, Helen M. (McCarthy) Cunha; by his children, Linda Flanders of Saugus, Thomas Cunha and his wife Annmarie of Malden, James Cunha and his wife Meg of Newburyport, Nancy LoPresti and her husband Michael of New Boston, NH, Edward Cunha and his partner Kim of Chatham, Theresa Friend and her husband Mark of Grand Prairie, TX, Roberta Donovan and her husband Edward of Bradford and Gary Cunha and his wife Tina of Medway; and by his siblings Lillian Oley of Burlington and Herbert Cunha of North Andover. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, William was predeceased by his son-in-law Jeff Flanders and by his brothers Joseph and Francis Cunha and Michael Wedge. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Breslin Funeral Home, 610 Pleasant St., Malden on Saturday October 10th at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant St., Malden at 9 AM. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday October 9th from 4-8 PM.
