Dianne C. (Ackley) Coghlin, 76, passed away at home, Monday, October 5, 2009, after a well-fought battle with cancer. Her husband, Robert L. Coghlin passed in 2004. She leaves five children—Lyle Coghlin and his wife Amy of Westwood, Jane Hill and her husband Raymond of Worcester, Suzanne Rivera and her husband David of Winter Springs, FL, Stephen Main and his wife Andrea of Warner, NH, and Leanne Anthony and her husband Steve of Tacoma, WA; six grandchildren—Nathan, Ryan, David, Austin, Phillip, and Lynsey; her cousin Judith Erhardt of Lancaster, NY and her two cats—Molly and Sage. She was predeceased by her grandson, Joseph Martone.
Dianne was born in Brockton, daughter of Edith D. (Lauritzen) and Arthur F. Ackley. She was educated in Weymouth schools and graduated from Bryant & Stratton College of Boston. Dianne was a Surgical Educational Coordinator in the Department of Surgery at Memorial Hospital for 23 years. After retiring, she continued working part-time for the Medical School in the Department of Preventative Medicine and also at TJ Maxx. Prior to Memorial Hospital, she worked for Houghton Mifflin Book Publishers of Boston and the Worcester law firm, Mirick and DeMallie. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Calling hours will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester Thursday, October 8, from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be at Wesley United Methodist Church, Friday, Oct. 9, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury.
