Claude R.Hines, 71, of MacArthur Drive, Smithfield, died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at the Hospice Inpatient Center in Providence. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Piccirilli) Hines. They would have celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary on October 12.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late Earle R. Hines and Solange (Auger) Manzolillo. He lived in Smithfield for 39 years previously living in Johnston.
Mr. Hines was a printer for Techno Print in Providence and he had also worked for Meyers Parking and Gilbane Properties, both in Providence. He was an Air Force veteran, a 35 year member and 2 term exalted ruler with the Smithfield Elks Lodge 2359, a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of Local 271. He was an avid New York Yankee fan.
He is also survived by his sons, Claude C. Hines, RIARNG of Cranston, John E. Hines, WWFD and James F. Hines both of Smithfield, granddaughter, Madeline and a sister, Muriel Denny of Florida. He was the brother of the late Earl and Louis Hines.
Funeral Friday at 8:30 am from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville.
