TAUNTON – Rosemarie C. (Correia) Martin, a lifelong Taunton resident, died in New Bedford on Oct. 4, 2009.
She was 79.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Jose Correia and the late Lucy (Medeiros) Correia – Rogers.
Educated in Taunton schools, she graduated from Taunton High School in 1947.
Mrs. Martin worked for the federal government in Washington D.C. many years ago, and was later employed by the former Mt. Hope Machinery Co. as a payroll/payables clerk.
She retired many years ago after working there for over 31 years.
She was a communicant of Annunciation of the Lord Church.
Survivors include a son, Michael D. Martin and his close friend Jim Burden of TN; 2 daughters, Pamela J. Souza and her husband Al of Taunton, and Kathleen R. McClain and her husband Murray of TN; a sister, Dorothy Rego of Taunton; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her step-father, the late Manuel Rogers; her sister, the late Ramona Johnson; and her step-brother, the late Harold Rogers.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway on Thursday, Oct. 8th at 8 a.m., followed by a funeral mass at Annunciation of the Lord Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 7th from 4 to 7 p.m.
