In Taunton, of Summer Street formerly of Olney Street in Taunton October 4, 2009 Robert Collins died at Morton Hospital in Taunton at the age of 77. Born in Dighton and educated in Taunton schools, Robert was the son of the late Nelson and Evelyn (Carrier) Collins. Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War as a Flight Photographer. Robert worked for many local department stores in the area, Benny’s, Assistant manager for Ashmont’s Dept Store, Buy & Save and the former Berk’s, he also enjoyed being a Wedding Photographer. Robert also was a member of the Taunton V.F.W.. He was the father of Tricia Collins of Providencetown, Brenda Nunes and her husband Michael of Rehoboth and Kimberly Howorth and her husband Bill of Norton. Dear friend of Jeanette (Lavelle) Collins. Grandfather of Aminda Teixeira of Norton, Jared and Justin Nunes both of Rehoboth. Brother of Shirley Baptista of Taunton, Louise Collins of Taunton and the late Betty Ahrens. A service will be held at the West Congregational Church, 155 No. Walker Street in Taunton Thursday, October 8th at 11 am. Calling hours will be held at the O’Keefe-Wade Funeral Home, 70 Washington Street in Taunton on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Interment St. Francis Cemetery in Taunton.
