TAUNTON – Lucille (Bernardino) Saia, the wife of the late John G. Saia, died at Morton Hospital on Oct. 4, 2009.
She was 85.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. and Elvida J. (Bernard) Bernardino.
A homemaker for most of her adult life, Mrs. Saia was raised and educated in Taunton, and was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph J. Saia and his wife Sue of Mashpee, Robert J. Saia and his wife Vicky of Tolland, CT, and John J. Saia of Taunton; four grandchildren, Michael, David, Laurie, and Karen Saia; and several nieces and nephews.
She also leaves her tenant and faithful friend, Jim Gray; and her beloved friend, Ann Correia, both of whom provided care, comfort, and support in times of need.
Mrs. Saia was the sister of the late Joaquim, John and Armand Bernardino; and the late Ida Mendes.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no Calling Hours.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony Church, School St. Taunton on Saturday, Oct. 10th at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
