Florence Evelyn (Young) Gillis a longtime resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Charles R. Gillis, died on Sunday, September 27, 2009, at the Brighten House in Medford after a lengthy illness. She was 90 years old.
Born in Wilmington, Massachusetts on March 6, 1919, she was the beloved daughter of the late Richard C. and Lizzie (Burley) Young. Florence was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first.
She will be sorely missed by two sons; Richard and his wife Anna Gillis of Florida and Ronnie Gillis of Chelsea, one daughter; Dorothy and her husband Ed Perelli of Medford, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A graveside service was celebrated on Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Many relatives and friends were in attendance.
