Roger L. Berube, 61, of Woonsocket, died peacefully Saturday afternoon with his family by his side at the Friendly Home.
Born in Woonsocket, he was a son of the late Edgar and Simone (Lapierre) Berube. He was a resident of the city for most of his life.
Mr. Berube attended the Bushee school and was a graduate of Pawtucket Vocational High School. He was employed by Dennison Manufacturing Company in Framingham for over 15 years. He also previously worked at Health-Tex in Cumberland.
Roger enjoyed keeping abreast of local news and events. He liked to keep track with along with his father in the Alert system on the scanner. He was a great lover of music, including classic, folk, country and many other varieties. Roger also looked forward to family gatherings and spending time with his nephews and their families.
He is survived by his sister, Jeannine Lapierre, and her husband Gerard, of North Smithfield, two nephews, Denis G. Lapierre, and Gary R. Lapierre, and his fiancée Katrina Therrien, and twin grand nieces Kate and Kristianna Lapierre, all of North Smithfield. He is also survived by an aunt, uncle, and many cousins.
His funeral will be Thursday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Church, Park Ave. Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 5-8 pm. Memorial donations may be made to Meals on Wheels of Woonsocket.
