Obituary

Charlton, Joseph F. Cristo,78, of 181 Brookfield Road, Charlton, Passed away at the
Overlook Masonic Health Center on Friday, October 2, 2009 after a long illness.
He leaves his wife of 48 years, Carole (Lombardi) Cristo, a daughter,Cynthia wife
of Joseph Chase of Millbury,4 sons,Joseph and his wife Linda of Worcester,John and his wife Sharon of Millbury, Ernest of Southbridge,Michael and his wife Michelle of Charlton
and his beloved daughter in law Kelly (LaFleche) Cristo of Charlton.
Ten grandchildren,Mark Chase of Millbury,Lisa (Cristo) Decoteau of Northbridge,Brian Chase
of Boylston, Alexis Cristo of Worcester, John R. Cristo of Millbury,Laynie,Lacey,Brian Jr.,Courtney, and Kirsten Cristo all of Charlton.He also leaves 4 great grandchildren,Andrew,Logan and Lauren Decoteau of Northbridge and Caedon Brian Cristo of Charlton, a brother, James Cristo of Shrewsbury and a sister, Margaret Boutilier of Millbury,and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Brian J. Cristo,a grandson, Arthur J. Cristo,his
sisters Helen (Cristo) Warren and Beatrice (Cristo) Trombowicz and a brother,Thomas Cristo.
He was the son of the late James and Mary (Janovsky) Cristo of Millbury.He attended school in Millbury.
Joe was born and lived in the Dorothy Pond section of Millbury for 45 years where he enjoyed boating,fishing, and family. Joe served overseas during the Korean Conflict as
a Corporal in the U.S. Army,where he was a member of the Army Boxing Team and was trained as a tank technician.He left for his Army tour with his life long friend Ray Bernard of Millbury and met his Army Buddy,Ed Murphy of Long Island,New York,who remained friends until their deaths.
He was employed by Miscoe Spring Beverage in Mendon for many years,owned and operated Cristo's Truck Repair in Shrewsbury and John's Pizza in Millbury before retiring and moving to Happy Hill Farm in Charlton where he enjoyed his family,fishing gardening and farming.
Joe's family wish to thank all of those at the Overlook Masonic Health Care Center for the wonderful care he received while a resident there.
There are no calling hours, but all are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass for Joe on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 9,2009 at 10:30 AM at St.Joseph's Church,10 H-Putnam Rd.,Ext.,in Charlton.
