Paramus B. Simonian, 78, of Appleton Road, a business owner and World War II veteran, died Sunday, Aug. 3, in UMass Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus, Worcester.
His wife of 28 years, Doris M. (Poirier) Simonian, died in 1990. He leaves a son, Robert B. Simonian of Auburn; a daughter, Andrea D. Maher of Jefferson; a brother, Zorab Simonian of Worcester; a sister, Elizabeth Melikian of Worcester; three grandchildren; many nephews and nieces. A brother, Thomas Simonian, predeceased him.
He was born in Worcester, son of Bagdasar and Zabel Simonian. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving with the 157th Infantry 45th Division in Anzio, Italy. He also guarded German prisoners of war at Camp Stark in New Hampshire.
Mr. Simonian owned and operated Simco Locksmith Service on Chandler Street, Worcester. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, The American Legion, C.P. Tuttle Post 279 in Auburn, and The Anzio Beachhead Veterans of World War II. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour.
The funeral was held Wednesday, August 6, in Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St., Worcester, burial in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
