Obituary




Worcester – Lorenzo J. “Larry” Beaudin, 83, of Worcester and St. Petersburg, FL died on Wednesday, September 30th in his home after a courageous battle with ALS.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dora T. (Richard) Beaudin; four daughters Anne T. and her husband Laurence Richard of Amherst, NH, Gisele M. and her husband Lynn Heaton of Nashwauk, MN, Suzanne B. and her husband Len Rubenstein of Scituate, MA and Lisa M. Beaudin of Sturbridge; one brother Urbain Beaudin of Worcester; two sisters Lucille tenHompel of Seattle, WA and Dolores O’Connor of Worcester; nine grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Lorenzo was born in Coaticook, Canada, son of the late Aime and Exilda (Fontaine) Beaudin. He is predeceased by a sister Lucienne Wasiuk and a brother Clement Beaudin.

He served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.

Lorenzo owned and operated Industrial Cases for many years retiring in 1983 and also co-owned Beaudin Brothers South Worcester Monument Company.

Mr. Beaudin was the past commander for the Franco-American Veterans, a Trustee for the former Worcester City Hospital where he served for twelve years, a former member of the board of directors for the Harmony Club of Worcester, past President of the Velvet Cloak Association in St. Petersburg, a member of the American Legion Long Key Post #305 in St. Petersburg, a longtime member of the Leicester Knights of Columbus #4528 and the Fourth Degree Cardinal Wright Assembly, the Greendale Retired Men’s Club, Our Lady of the Angels Church, and a former member of Holy Name of Jesus Church.

A funeral will be held Monday, October 5th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Mass at 10 AM Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street.
Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Calling hours are Sunday, October 4th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
