Hazel I. (Allerby) Haskell 81 years, of Brockton, died Friday October 2, 2009 at West Acres Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Haskell.
Hazel was born in Abington and raised and educated in Brockton a daughter of the late James and Ora (LaMontagne) Allerby. She remained a lifelong resident of the city. She was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed reading and crocheting.
Hazel is survived by 12 children Charles Haskell, Jr. and his wife Lorraine of Plympton; George Haskell and his wife Cheryl of N. Carolina; Hazel Duff and her husband John, Janet Reed and her husband John, David Haskell and his wife Fran, Linda Cruise and Ruth Betts and her husband Keith all of Brockton; James Haskell and his wife Carol of Florida; Vivian Johnson and her husband Frank of Foxboro; Norma Haskell and Paul of Middleboro; Barbara Haskell of S. Carolina and John Haskell and his wife Jane of Plymouth. She also leaves many grandchildren, many great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Milton and Joseph Allerby.
Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 11:30 am. Burial in New King Cemetery in Taunton. Visiting hours Sunday 4-7 pm. Donations may be made in Hazel’s name to The American Heart Association 20 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701.
