LEICESTER: Stephen E.”Bud” Budney,52 of 6 Rawson St., died Wednesday, Sept. 30 in St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester
after being stricken ill at his home on Sept. 26th.
He leaves his wife of 26 years, Diane M. (Dalton) Budney, two sons Brian T. and Kevin A. Budney of Leicester, whom he was very proud of. A stepdaughter Gina M. Bronczyk and her son Jacob of Webster, his mother Ruth (Bigwood) Budney of Sanbornton, N.H., three sisters Dianne Budney and her husband John Kowalchuk of Sanbornton, Linda Poole and her husband Robert of Goffstown, N.H., and Catherine Friedman and her husband Philip of Paxton, two brothers James Budney and his wife Mary DiMarco Seymour of Oakham and Christopher Budney and his wife Michelle of Webster, several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is predeceased by a sister Margaret Budney.
Stephen worked in the construction industry for many years including Roy Harrison Paving and Gilbert Norbert Co. He loved working outdoors and especially with heavy equipment.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Theodore Budney. He attended Worcester Boys Trade School.
He had many friends and was a very outgoing individual with a good heart. It was always the joke of the family that he should be in politics because he knew so many people wherever he went.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Oct. 4 from 2 to 5 p.m. in the MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St. Leicester. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
