Gilbert “Jimmy” Gendreau, age 79, of Fall River, passed away in Fall River, September 23, 2009. Husband of Hellen (Mello) Gendreau and son of the late Albert and Aldea Gendreau. Born in Fall River, he resided in Melbourne, FL for 20 years, returning 6 years ago. Before retiring, he was a Computer Engineer at N.U.S.C. in Newport, RI. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving in both Korea and Viet Nam.
Besides his wife of Fall River, he is survived by: 1 daughter: Michelle Hall and her husband Jason of Windham, ME; 6 siblings: Normand Gendreau and Connie Kuttner both of Westport, MA, Albert Gendreau of Somerset, MA, Doris Forte of MI, Pauline Gauthier of Fall River, and Roger Gendreau of Warwick, RI; 2 grandsons: Finnegan and Samuel Hall and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Rita Freelove, Lorraine Botelho and Jeanne Gendreau.
His PRIVATE funeral service for family members took place in the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, 1521 N. Main St. Saturday, September 26, 2009 at 10 AM. followed by interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
