Madeleine M. Latour, 59, of Sayles Hill Rd., Manville, died Tuesday morning at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of Lucille M. (Gadbois) Latour, with whom she made her home, and the late Marcel Latour. She was a lifelong resident of Manville.
Madeleine attended school in Manville and was employed by Health-Tex in Cumberland for over 20 years before retiring several years ago.
Madeleine was an ardent fan and supporter of Mount St. Charles hockey team. She was a longtime season ticket holder and loved following the team whether at home or away. She also was a die hard Yankees fan and was passionate about a wide variety of music.
Madeleine enjoyed dining out and day trips. She was a devoted daughter and sister, and cherished her role as aunt to her nephews Matthew and Ryan Latour.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a brother, Denis M. Latour, and his wife Donna, of Blackstone. Two nephews, Matthew Latour of Waltham, MA, and Ryan Latour of Queens, NY. She is also survived by several aunts and cousins.
Her funeral will be Friday at 9:00 am from the Menard Funeral Home, 71 Central St., Manville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. James Church, Division St., Manville. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Manville. Visiting hours are Friday morning from 8:30 -9:45 am prior to Mass.
