Charlie Cole Hicks, 76, Clarksville, died Monday, September 28, 2009, at Gateway Medical Center. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Neal-Tarpley Chapel. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. A masonic service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. He was born July 12, 1933 in Calvin Oklahoma son of the late John Monroe Hicks and Allie Mae Franks Hicks. He was retired from the US Air Force and Soil Conservation Service. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and worked for Victim's Rights Advocacy Group. Survivors include his wife of fifty two years, Emily Hicks; son, Karl T. Hicks, Clarksville; daughters, Barbara Ann Ladd, Nashville and Christina M. Ransom, Clarksville; brother, John R. Hicks, Springfield, Colorado; sister, Velma Louise, Arizona; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Eva Maria Ransom.
