TAUNTON – Manuel Torres Medeiros, the husband of Ilda V. (Serodeo) Medeiros, died at St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River on Sept. 28, 2009.
He was 71.
Born and raised on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, he was the son of the late Jose and Gabriela (Torres) Raposo Medeiros.
After moving to the United States in 1974, Mr. Medeiros worked for Princess House for several years, and later, Hallsmith Cysco, before retiring several years ago.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony Church.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, he leaves a son, Michael J. Medeiros and his wife Karen of Fairhaven; a daughter, Kathy Banalewicz and her husband Michael of Fall River; 2 brothers, Jose Medeiros of Bermuda and Antonio Medeiros of St. Michael; 3 sisters, Maria Medeiros of E. Taunton, Adelaide Ferreira of St. Michael, and Cecelia Amaral of Ontario Canada; 6 grandchildren, Brittany and Olivia Medeiros, Chace Jabotte, and Katelyn, Ashley, and Michael Banalewicz; and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Friday, Oct. 2nd at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 9 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Oct. 1st from 5 to 8 p.m.
